Ugly Dirty Grout Got You Down? MARBLELIFE® has you covered.
We understand and have engineered a solution to solve the problem, optimized to prevent re-occurrence. Our COLORSeal technology can restore your grout to its original appearance or a color of your choice.
This treatment goes well beyond cleaning and restoration and begins by removing the remnants of any previously applied sealer. Once the surface has been prepared, we apply COLORSeal to the surface.
Unlike traditional sealing methods, MARBLELIFE
®’s approach allows the craftsman to visually determine which areas are more porous than others, ensuring a consistent and uniform seal.
After the seal has been applied, dirt and bacteria will no longer be absorbed into the grout, but will remain at the surface where it can be easily cleaned, disinfected, and maintained.
Causes of Grout Discoloration and Wear
Most grout starts to develop a stained or spotty appearance within 6-months of installation. The dirty appearance is due to the unsealed grout’s absorption of dirt, grime, and other debris.
Attempting to scrub away the discoloration may worsen the appearance of your grout. As will the use of inappropriate cleaners, which can leach grout dyes and gradually fade your color.
DID YOU KNOW: More than 20% of the restoration work we do is the result of use of an inappropriate cleaner or chemical.
The marble is beautiful…looks like brand new. The technician was most helpful in advising on future care of the stone etc. Would recommend to friends. I also plan to have ceramic tile cleaned when I have a slot in my work schedule to take a day off. I am sure it will be well worth it!

Other Effects of Dirty Grout
The number one complaint by office tenants in high-rise buildings is the appearance of the lobby and bathroom floors—particularly the grout. Architects are fond of saying that when it comes to floors “Grout is 5% of the floor but 95% of the complaints.” This same problem arises in hotels and hospitals
DID YOU KNOW? The #4 killer of Americans is secondary infections acquired while visiting a hospital.
Our COLORSeal technology in combination with our TILELOK treatments prevent hospital grout from absorbing dirt and bacteria.
What to Expect from a COLORSeal Treatment
Sanded Grout Surfaces:
-
A MARBLELIFE® representative will work with you to select the grout color you want, whether it’s your original color, or one of your choosing.
-
Your custom-colored seal is then manufactured and sent to your MARBLELIFE® representative for application. We offer a standard color as well as 270 other options, making décor coordination a breeze. If you select a grout or caulk color, we can match it.
-
Your surface is then cleaned to remove surface dirt and oils that can interfere with the COLORSeal treatment.
-
Remnants of the original seal (if any) are removed to allow the grout to properly bind with the new treatment.
-
Your custom COLORSeal is applied.
Your floor is walk-ready within 10-minutes following application, reaching full durability and strength after approximately 7 days. But can be cleaned within 24 hours.
Ongoing maintenance is significantly simplified as dirt and grime are unable to penetrate the grout and is forced to remain on the surface, where it can be removed with a cloth and some MARBLELIFE® TILE AND GROUT CLEANER. Our special cleaners have been formulated to leave behind no harmful waxes or acids. MARBLELIFE®’s products are designed to facilitate the removal of oils and dirt, and do so rapidly.
NOTE: COLORSeal treatments are for use on sanded grout surfaces only.
NON-SANDED GROUT requires a different solution, but MARBLELIFE® has engineered a solution for this surface as well.
